Gig Harbor, Washington – Tom Powers, 58, tragically passed away on November 7, 2024, after a brief but intense battle with glioblastoma, the most aggressive form of brain cancer.
Tom was diagnosed with the disease in mid-August 2024, and his condition deteriorated rapidly in the months that followed. Glioblastoma is a particularly devastating diagnosis, and despite the efforts of his medical team and the unwavering support from his wife, Wendy Ahrensdorf Powers, Tom succumbed to the illness just three months after receiving the diagnosis.
Wendy, who had been by Tom’s side throughout his battle, has been described as an incredibly supportive and loving spouse. The couple’s bond was recognized as one of deep affection and commitment.
In the wake of his passing, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched by their friend, Dale Nordling, to help Wendy with medical and funeral expenses. The fundraiser has already raised $500 in donations.
Friends and supporters have shared heartfelt tributes, with many expressing their condolences and admiration for Tom and Wendy’s enduring love. The loss of Tom leaves a profound impact on those who knew him.
