England – Nick Goodchap, 59, tragically passed away on Friday morning, following a courageous seven-month battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.
Nick’s death has deeply affected his family, who have described his fight as both inspirational and heartbreaking.
Glioblastoma is a grade 4 brain cancer known for its poor prognosis, with many patients experiencing rapid declines in health after diagnosis.
Nick’s daughter, Nicole Goodchap, shared the news on a fundraising page, highlighting the devastating impact of brain tumours, which kill more children and adults under 40 than any other cancer.
She added, “Nick was still hoping for many more years with us, but sadly that was not to be.”
In lieu of a traditional funeral, the family has set up a GoFundMe to raise funds for brain tumour research, aiming to finance a day of research in Nick’s name.
The goal is to raise £2,740, the cost of funding one day of research into brain tumours.
Nicole also invited others to share their photos and memories of Nick, as they continue to honor his legacy and raise awareness for brain cancer.
Nick is remembered fondly by his loved ones, who will miss him dearly.
