Peoria, Illinois – Johnnetta Smith, a beloved mother, wife, and friend, tragically lost her life on Sunday, November 10, 2024, following a domestic incident that ended in gun violence.
The Peoria Police Department confirmed that Smith, a local woman, was fatally shot around 5:30 p.m. near Republic Street and Wisconsin Avenue.
The police have indicated that the incident is being treated as a domestic situation, though further details have not been disclosed at this time.

Smith, a woman described as "beautiful inside and out" by her friends, had been a significant figure in her community, with many expressing their grief on social media.
