Aiden McDonald, 18-Year-Old Student and Baseball Player from Sarasota, Florida, Dies Unexpectedly Leaving a Grieving Community

Sarasota, Florida – The community of Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School (CMHS) and the local Riverview Rams Baseball team are mourning the sudden death of 18-year-old Aiden McDonald, a beloved student and baseball player.

Aiden, who was a senior at CMHS and a standout right-handed pitcher, tragically passed away over the weekend. His death has left the school, his classmates, teammates, and family devastated.

Known for his love of family, academics, and sports, Aiden was also deeply passionate about baseball. He was highly regarded by his peers and coaches alike, earning recognition as one of the top players at his school. Aiden had been expected to graduate in 2025.

In a statement shared on Instagram, CMHS Baseball expressed their sorrow, stating, “It is with heavy hearts that we share that a beloved member of the CMHS Senior Class and Mooney Baseball program, Aiden McDonald, has passed away. Please see this post for information about celebrating Aiden’s life.”

Riverview Rams Baseball also extended their condolences, adding, “The Rams Baseball community sends our heartfelt condolences to the McDonald family and the CMHS baseball and school community.”

Funeral arrangements and further details will be released by Aiden’s family.
